The most popular modular connection’s benefit is improving spindle drawbacks such as run out and alignment but from my point of view, the other important point which we would consider is longer tool life.
If you are working with a professional supplier, a modular connection allows a supplier to grind the reamer diameter at the top of the tolerance board which means longer tool life, so, do not refuse to use the modular connection.
In addition, considering Material spring back properties, work piece shape and reamer point form , the reamer’s real diameter could be bigger than the maximum borderline (5 to 10 microns) which leads to longer tool life too
